Reiki is a form of hands on energy healing when done in person. You may experience no touch at all or touch as simply a hand on your body. Reiki is not massage. It is not physical manipulation. I do not diagnose. I do not prognosticate except to say that sometimes healing is realized over a period of time.

Reiki can be an effective form of distance healing, too. Good for all sentient beings. Good for providing comfort and energy for those unexpected overnight stays at the veterinary hospital.

Mikao Usui is credited with establishing Reiki in the early 20th century. In 1922, he founded his first Reiki clinic and school in Tokyo. On September 1, 1923, the great 7.9 Kanto earthquake struck. Usui rushed into the devastation to provide healing and relief. There was such a great number of injured that Usui did not go about from one person to the next but instead sent Reiki to many people simultaneously, projecting Reiki through his eyes, both hands and his feet.
