The Emergent Phenomenology Research Consortium

EPRC – The Emergent Phenomenology Research Consortium

I found EPRC on the Directory page of NT2TD (Normalize Talking 2 The Dead).
From the website:

Pioneering research and advocacy for the responsible integration of meditation, psychedelics, and emergent practices among clinicians, academia and practitioners worldwide.

Emergent is a neutral but descriptive word that refers to a range of experiences that can emerge in various contexts, such as contemplation, meditation, the use of certain substances, and in various contexts not always obviously related to those situations and practices.

I’ve known people who have had emergent experiences such as kundalini rising – which can be interpreted as a psychotic break, and spontaneous mediumship – which is often described as “hearing voices in my head.” Emergent experiences, can sometimes be frightening, disabling, shattering. As a society, we often don’t recognize them as anything other than pathological. Sometimes a person gets psychotherapy or drugs or both and, eventually, “gets over it.” Sometimes a person is unable to “name it,” understand the experience, or integrate it and their life goes permanently off-track.

I hope knowing there is a science-based effort to understand and manage crises in emergent experiences, that should you need to, you and your loved ones will have the courage to resist misdiagnosis and persevere in seeking informed and appropriate help.

Spring Mysteries: April 2-5, 2026

The paragraphs below are from the Spring Mysteries website. I know my friends at the Aquarian Tabernacle Church would welcome you warmly at this 40th Anniversary Festival in Seattle. For more information and to register for the Mysteries, visit the website here.

“Since 1985, Aquarian Tabernacle Church has been continuing the Eleusinian Mysteries originally held in Ancient Greece. These mysteries, held every year in honor of Demeter and Persephone, explore universal concepts and truths from the perspective of the seeker of hidden knowledge. Our Priests and Priestesses spend 3-4 months preparing for the festival, working with the energies of the Gods and rehearsing the ritual drama that is presented over 4 days for hundreds of people each Easter Weekend.

Though the main portions of the event focus on Greek deities, there are many workshops and other groups that bring a plethora of alternate ways to explore, including the general mysteries of women, men and those who identify as a mixture of both energies. There is also a vendors space, with many often-requested items and trinkets to take home, and plenty of space for conversations or introspective moments.

Everyone who attends will come away transformed and with wonderful memories of their time in Eleusis.”
